Purple Grungy Wood

I apologize in advance as this may be a long post.  Also, I took the pictures with my phone since it's difficult for me to photograph my right hand with my DSLR. Here's a sneak peek of my end result.

Top = left, Bottom = right

The inspiration from this mani came from Pinterest.

I saw this picture and instantly thought of THIS mani from Nails Adored (hint: click that link to see her tutorial).

Now what I used:
Left to right: Zoya Monica, Zoya Mira, OPI Done Out In Deco, China Glaze Mahogany Magic, & Essie Sand Tropez.  I followed her tutorial exactly & for my left hand used these polishes as pictured above, starting with a base of Zoya Monica....and so on.

bottle is Monica

Outside with flash.

Then, I attempted just the opposite with my right hand.  It was slightly difficult as I'm right handed & always horrible at painting that hand, so please excuse the mess.  By opposite, I mean I used the colors above in reverse order.  I started with a base of Essie Sand Tropez & worked backwards.

I actually like it both ways & will definitely be trying this mani again.  What do y'all think?

  1. This is gorgeous! I love how it has a tie-dyed effect as well

  2. EEEKKKK!!!! I've been looking for a tutorial for this for some time! I just love how yours turned out!!! The colors are AMAZING. <3

  3. Wow this is the first time I've seen a grunge effect nail art love this one

  4. I love this... and it might be something I can actually do :)
